More Than Resting Your Feet, Here We Find a New Way to Use Your Storage Ottoman for:
Baby Changer
Our family friend, Jessica, a newly promoted mom of an adorable baby girl, called me this morning to share some shouts about the pressure of being a “perfect” mom while still keeping a lady’s independent taste.
The young couple, their new-born baby and her nanny lived in a loft style apartment, where the master bedroom and the baby room are located at the upper level while they share a large open family space at the lower floor. They have a real changing table and all supplies for baby in her cosy room upstairs. However the truth of the matter is, as a new mom, she soon discovered that sometimes they need to change a diaper in their family room where you do not want a nursery feeling to seep into your décor too much.
She looked around and put her eyes on her ottoman combinations. Bingo! She thought there is a solution. Use the ottoman as a changing table. You could easily keep a small box of supplies in a storage ottoman in the living space where your family actually spends most time without altering the sleek and funky furnishing there. A large square or round ottoman stool or pouffe is usually soft enough to keep the baby supported without rolling off and it could also be much easier to help saving your back than always changing diaper on the floor.
“What if you mess up?” I asked. Also as a mom, I understood too much about all little crazy moments when you were facing a crying baby.
“Easy, we always carry around a throw blanket which is waterproof.”
“And it is always fun to grab a few ottomans or pouffes and switch them out as my décor tastes change!” Jessica concluded.
